I find this funny too. Kanter is extremely difficult to trade
No team with cap space is going to trade for Kanter when they can simply make him a big offer this off-season. Why give up assets for a player you can get this summer without losing anything? The only perk you get for trading for Kanter is you acquire his Bird rights. How much are his Bird rights worth? Are they really worth a quality starting shooting guard? Not a chance. The only other type of team I could see that might have interest in Kanter is a playoff team that wants some extra post help the remainder of the season. These teams typically don't have cap space. They'd probably need a third team to facilitate the trade. Finally, a trade has to be worth it for the Jazz. It's better to let Kanter leave via free agency than acquire the long-term contract of a player you don't want. The Jazz won't trade him for just trading him.
