In all, LSU will play seven neutral site games in a 9-season span from 2010-2018
Wait! What?

Aren't playing neutral site games BAD? Aren't some on CB totally irked that BYU has several neutral site games coming up? (BYU has 4 in the next 3 years)

OK - trying to be wise guy is done with that above....

Let's think about this...IF BYU is getting the same $4M then these are extremely smart games to have...

For everyone that wants to be competitive with the P5 so that one day we'll be included we do have to have the money to pay TCOA, etc... We're hearing estimates from other schools that it could cost $900K per year to pay that out to all their athletes. That one game could guarantee BYU being able to pay that out for 4 years.

Plus these games are usually brokered by ESPN so they'll often be carrying it on one of their top networks (ABC/ESPN/ESPN2) which will still give BYU the exposure they want.

And a portion of the national BYU fan base has another opportunity for a short drive to get to a game in their region.

I get the desire (whine) of those that are local that want every one of those opponents in LES with 1:1's but would you want that IF it meant BYU couldn't keep up with the P5's on TCOA payouts, etc? It may be time for some to see a bigger picture. I'm sure I can't even see the picture as big (and correct) as Tom Holmoe, Worthin, the BoT's, etc.

I do see a journey ahead though that looks like it could be fun. And it could be awesome if we were achieving some double digit (plus) win seasons with some of these future schedules. The schedules alone may improve recruiting (high profile teams on nationally broadcast games). And even if we don't win them all at least some of these schedules/contracts with neutral games could be funding things that may also improve our recruiting profile (TCOA)...
