I'd like to further your metaphor (it's actually a simile), but

I'd get warned or suspended for sexist remarks. If the NBA is a gorgeous high-maintenance woman, then you can imagine the type of woman I think college hoops resembles. I'll switch it up:

If the NBA is an Audi (nice luxury car, expensive to maintain), then college basketball is like a 1992 Geo Metro with 250 thousand miles.
