Thank you in return.
Yes, I'm so grateful every day for how awesome life can be. I'm having so much fun. I'm often asked, "what do you do for fun? What are your interests and hobbies?". I've had plenty of really awesome hobbies in the past, and I also love participating in basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, racquetball and horse shoes. But these days, my answer is always "work". I always get "no really, what do you do outside of work that you enjoy". My honest answer is, "two things: work and BYU athletics". Those two things make me the happiest guy on the face of the planet. Despite my frustrations with BYU football and basketball right now, I recognize everything is cyclic, and I'm a proud owner of BYU goggles.

One of the main reasons I'm such a HUGE BYU fan is because of my late grandfather. He gave me a patriarchal within a year of his passing. He was my best friend. Up until then, we watched every BYU game together. When I was first married, I lived in a fully equipped "apartment" that I helped my dad build in their unfinished basement of a "Parade of Homes" house they purchased. My grandfather would sneak into the back door every Saturday so that my dad didn't know we were watching the BYU game together. My dad is just a screaming hot head during BYU games.

My grandfather told me that both BYU and Utah Jazz had maximized their potential and would likely go down hill from there. That was 1995. After he passed in 1996, BYU went 14-1 and defeated K-State in the Cotton Bowl, and the Jazz went to two NBA finals... can't feel too bad about getting beat by Michael Jordan.

So, when I refuse to give up on BYU, there you go. And when I believe in miracles and what's possible to absolutely change people's lives, I've lived it. So I (being as skeptic as I naturally am) can't deny what I can't deny.

OK, stepping off my soapbox and exiting stage now... LOL
