and a 4.0 his senior year. He looks a lot like John Beck. He basically blew up his senior year and raised his game to be met with very little recruiting attention. If we need a non-LDS non-mission player, he's basically low hanging fruit right now.

I do think it's a red flag though that even New Mexico State is passing on him. There is something that screams low upside that have recruiters backing away, but then again it just could be teams don't want a 6'2" pocket passer. He's not super mobile.
