BYU needs more P5 teams on their schedule to grow to a P5 team.
Games against current P5 teams:

BYU is averaging 4.8 games against P5 teams in Indy
Future:

16 5P5 2 games left to schedule

19 4P5 5

BYU needs to schedule 4 P5 games for the remaining 16 slots in 15-20 to average 5 P5 games a year, 10 P5 games to average 6 a year.
ND is averaging 9-10 P5 games a year.
Id like to see BYU with an average of 6-7 P5 teams on their schedule n the 2020s. 11-19 may just be building towards this. I think when BYU becomes a P5 team or gets a formal scheduling and/or bowl recognition it will be a change in name only as they will be scheduling and playing closer to or like a P5 team.
