I have a friend who buys 2-5 pairs of glasses with the same prescription from some cheap foreign website and says that he usually gets 2/5 that are really good. His problem was that he would spend a ton of money on glasses that he thought he would like and then they either broke easily, hinges wore out quickly, etc. I'm sure the optical professionals will say this is a very bad idea because you can't guarantee quality and my sample set is one friend, but though I would throw it out here.
