BYU jumps on pump fakes at a ridiculous rate, especially on the perimeter. At that point, you've either drawn a foul or are playing 5 on 4. BYU's next-level defenders are actually pretty quick to help when one of our perimeter defenders flies uncontrollably out of the play. But that always leaves someone open, often wide-open for layups. Our bigs are pretty decent at jumping to help, but it's a principal reason they pick up so many fouls. Our bigs pick up 3-5 fouls per game (collectively) at 15-20 feet from the basket when trying to help on our perimeter defenders who have jumped at a pump fake.
