don't lie her flat. stick some blankets under the head of her bed so she is sleeping at a angle. My little had it so bad one night, my wife and I took turns holing her upright on the couch. she was able to sleep and breath better instead of coughing. the more rest they get, the quicker they get better I think. good luck
