To make themselves feel better about cheering for a crappy team. Fans wear loyalty like its a badge of honor when in reality it just means you don't get to enjoy sports for how great they really are. I'm a huge jazz fan but I would much rather watch a warriors/ spurs game than a jazz game. I root for every team that is fun to watch.
