It seems all a Billionaire NFL (or NBA) team owner has to do to get free money from the Gov't is threaten to move to Los Angeles. The public funding of Stadiums-tax breaks- free land in prime places is getting more and more ridiculous.
When the New Jersey Nets failed to shake down the Garden State government for arena subsidies and relocated to Brooklyn in 2012, Christie said: "My message to the Nets is goodbye. You don't want to stay? We don't want you. I mean seriously, I'm not going to be in the business of begging people to stay here...They want to leave here and go to Brooklyn? Good riddance. See you later...There will be no tears shed on my part tonight. They go? They go." http://reason.com/blog/2015/01/12/missouri-offers-to-hand-out-500-million
That is one issue I strongly agree with Christie on.
I wish more politicians could see the fallacy of thinking Billion Dollar subsidies (or whatever you want to call them) do not help the economy, they only help the Rich get Richer.
