I'd knock out a good amount of running, too. That's easy. You get a good way to see where you're at, and you get to get exercise.
Last, your diet is really the key. Don't eat crap. Period. If you're a snacker, take your own, healthy snacks. When out to dinner, stay away from sugars and alcohol.
