I had a student from Saudi Arabia who really struggled with the language. He needed to finish well or his parents were going to yank him back home.

He turned in his final paper which was only marginally better than his others. cool he improved a little I thought. A C- paper at best though.

When the semester was over he came by to say thanks for the semester and that he had to go back home. It wasn't just my class he was struggling in. We talked about his paper and he told me how he paid a guy at a nearby college $500 to write his paper. My response was an automatic "$500! you got ripped off. $50 should have gotten you a better quality paper."

$500 wow. I can't say I don't wish I had a piece of that.
