Rose's conference record is 125-38, for a 76.6% win percentage. Additionally,
the other decades don't really come close to the 75% win percentage, even if it's inflated by a few patsies in pre-conference. So in my POV, any way you cut it (i.e. removing the worst 3-4 wins each year or whatever), it still holds up as the best 10 year record.

To your point about the NCAA tourney being easier to make it, totally fair. In 1979 it expanded to 40 teams, which is why I used the "single digit seed" metric as that's a cleaner comparison over the last 35 years at least. And again, this decade holds up as 6 of our 7 tourney bids would have been granted any year since 1979. Only the Hartsock/Iona year benefitted from the inflated format.

In terms of scoring average, I also agree it doesn't necessarily signal quality team. I simply used it to indicate it's an entertaining product. So all of the stats above confirm it's the best 10 years in terms of quality, and that just signals that it's also been fun to watch. If you wanted to compare across decades, we could look at "top 10 nationally in PPG" as a better metric. I don't want to dig that far, but I'd guess we have 3-5 of those under Rose and likely very few before.
