You have lesson planning etc. Having said that though, I've had teachers tell me "If you can't do, you teach, if you can't teach you teach PE".
My response: One of us gets to teach ultimate frisbee, football, basketball, hiking, etc the other has to teach math. Oh and we make the same amount of money, so you tell me who the smart one is.
