For perspective - of the kids who apply to Harvard with perfect SATs, only half
are accepted. It's an amazing statistic. A perfect SAT is only good enough in 50% of the cases.
At BYU, half of all applicants are accepted.
My hope is that it continues to get more difficult to get into BYU. My kids start applying in about 10 years. I hope by then the acceptance rate will be closer to 33%.
Interestingly, BYU's matriculation rate is often the highest in the country.
It's certainly a unique college experience and I can only hope that the best LDS minds gravitate to it in a more pronounced way....
