And I say that as someone who was dead set on going to BYU (even though I am a Utah fan). There are so many great options out there and BYU is not a good fit for every one. When I didn't get into the grad school I really wanted, it ended up being the best thing for me. People leaving the church because their kid didn't get into BYU is not only petty, it is down right stupid.

BYU-I, BYU-H, Utah State, Southern Utah, UNLV, Arizona State, Idaho State, any school in California, and yes, The University of Utah will all provide kids the opportunity to get a solid education while affording LDS dating opportunities. Some of those schools will have better programs in certain fields than BYU.

And make no mistake, BYU is not for everybody. In fact, its probably not for a lot of people.
