I would build a desktop
and buy a laptop...
Building a desktop would be rather easy nowadays and just a blast.
www.microcenter.com ASUS motherboards are top notch...every easy management UI and worth every penny.
But buying a laptop over buying a desktop gives you so much more flexibility. If you truly want a desktop, build one, else by a laptop.
