-CK's ability to patrol the paint without getting in foul trouble was the key to victory v Gonz and SMU. I was glad that the refs let things go at the beginning since it allowed CK to set the tone.
-We are tough to beat when we have high defensive intensity and active hands on d. I would like to see us press a little, with our smaller quicker line up, to rev up the intensity.
-Gonz doesn't have super quick pt guard that causes penetrate and kick out problems.
-Halford is the heart and soul of the team. Biggest contribution is his lack of fear (pure confidence)
-Haws' missed free throws were long, usually short is a sign of tightness.
-Need to make better decisions down the stretch. Halford not knowing how much time there was on the shot clock right after a time out was bad (he gets a pass for otherwise playing lights out). Passing the ball to a freshman center with 1.7 left is dumb. Also, when you know that there is precious time left you can move a little to buy some more time not just assume the fetal position. Also, Winder gave the guy way to much room to step into the long shot. Crowd him a little with your hand straight up and he has no chance.
I think we are in barring first round egg.
