Just watched a live interview with him at spring training. Genuinely good guy, humble, unassuming, talking about how in love he is with his brand new baby daughter, aww-shucksing through the adulation the reporter gal was heaping on him.

In the meantime, his stats from previous years are being put up on the screen, and I just have to shake my head. Led the Majors in ERA four years in a row. Nobody in the history of pro baseball has sustained that level of mastery for that many years consecutive. The last two seasons, his ERA is in the ones, AND IT'S DROPPING. Shoot. He went 21 and 3 last year. And three!

And no jokes from me about his postseason today, but he was the one that really belabored the point that he just had to sit and watch the Giants celebrating. Despite my begrudging admiration for him, that sure made this Giants fan grin.
