One thing glaringly missing from the Away Gonzaga win
no one seemed to mind the small 6000-seat "high school gym". We talk about the small arenas often as a major concession of our WCC membership and I've read lots of threads about how we can't be successful in the WCC partly due to school and gym size.

But based on the reactions I read on here and in the press on BYU's win this week:
CB didn't appear to mind the gym size,
Players didn't mind.
TV-viewers couldn't tell
ESPN certainly didn't mind and is getting a ton of air-time out of the BYU victory
and neither will future recruits.

#3 on their home court is what mattered.

The games in the WCC have been intense, they've been very well attended by BYU fans, games have also been on TV. BYU fans love outnumbering local fans during away games (maybe not at Gonzaga...) and local schools love taking BYU fan's money. WCC has been gracious and welcoming to Cougar fans which is such a relief from the crap we had to endure from the UNLV invitational (MWC tournie on freaking UNLV's home floor!) as well as SDSU and UNLV fans. Yes we had some good games in the MWC and with BYU and Utah it may have been a stronger b-ball league, but that's all gone now and won't be coming back.

Future of BYU basketball is very bright, and I don't see a reason why we couldn't stay in the WCC a very long time.

Thanks WCC for your classy fans and for some great basketball games, teams and coaches!
