Other preparation, more important than location.
Do ALL of the heavy lifting ahead of time.

- Figure out the equipment. If you're renting at one spot, fine...just make sure you are totally ready for this. Most people, including adults do not need ski poles, and most adults should probably bag their poles for awhile and remember how to weight transfer properly. Don't worry about it, but for your kids under 10, forget the poles. Snowboarding's great, but if you have some on skis and some on boards, you're making it tougher for the group (my two cents)

Weather - For beginners, clear skies is best, less distractions, issues. But all kids are different.

- Clothing
- Do not overdress - kids will get warm learning the basics and will wear thin on patience and be done before you know it.
- Layers are best
- Make sure you have good goggles (no sunglasses - assume weather will be bad, even if sunny)
- Keep their goggles on their face, and don't let them rest them on their head, or they will fog

Try to park as near to ski location as possible. You want to avoid too much walking in boots, and warm gear as possible.

The more you prep and have this figured out the more successful your skiing will be, and they'll want to return.

I have taking all of my 5 kids, ages 2 - 15 by myself, and been just fine. Preparation is everything.

Any of the major resorts are good options for learning. PCMR/Deer Valley are great. I would avoid the Canyons.
