Hard to remember now, but before Roger Reid killed the program, the student section stood and cheered, yelled, etc. for the entire game against better opponents, including some great UTEP and UNM teams. Hard to beat the atmosphere. That is also why wins in LES, like the Miami game to open Detmer's senior year or the Texas A&M comeback to open Sarkisian's senior year will always be near and dear. The games on the field were great, but the stands were loud and packed. The Texas win in LES was great, but there were empty seats. I am still hoping that Dave Rose can have some back to back sweet 16 teams to pack the stands again.
