my $18 check to them as proof of attending jury duty. After I do that, they will not take any vacation time from me and will pay me for the workday, even though I am salary and worked about 4 hours today.

Doesn't that seem a little odd that I have to sign over my check to them? I provided them with the letter the court provides but that isn't enough. They want to take my $18. I am not in dire need of $18. It is more the oddness and the principle of it.
