Seriously though, Google Docs has not been very successful with their interface

They need to fix that really soon. It has left a bad impression of the future of Google in my mind. There is no support unless you pay for it or sign up as a business user. That can't be good!

Have you tried ctrl+z first, to undo your ctrl+c mistake?

Can't you just go to revision history, go to the revision, and click "restore" ?

Click on the "All Changes Saved in Drive" at the top of the doc to view revision

Google docs saves while you go, so if you open a doc and your file is missing
