Hmmm. 40+ years of experience. Trained in hyper-competitive bygone era
by many academicians who were members of the greatest U.S. generation and in schools (some of which dismissed as much as the entire bottom third of the class AFTER the impossibly tough first year) that had no fear of legal reprisals from rejected candidates. This generation was admitted to schools without affirmative action policies in place. Admission was based strictly on undergraduate grades, entrance exams and interviews without consideration to gender or ethnicity.

Virtually all were required to master and perform the highly technique-sensitive gold foil technique for restoring teeth while sitting for their licensure exam, a technique which has unrivaled marginal integrity and longevity, even today. These people sharpened their own needles! They did all of their own lab work in school and even afterwards in many cases. These were true clinicians in the best sense of the word and in many ways that are no longer viewed as practical simply because of the desire by legislatures to graduate more and more students to increase the number of providers within their states and lower the cost of publicly-funded dental care.

Yeah, I think I'd take that risk.
