I make the comparison because the post ...
...is claiming Westbrook deserves the MVP. My opinion is, KD won the MVP last year because his team won (even without Westbrook for much of the year), while this years team is not winning at the same clip (I included links in my previous post) when the roles have flipped - Westbrook playing and KD sitting out for long stretches.

I am NOT a Westbrook hater by any means. His burst and acceleration are the best I HAVE EVER SEEN in the league ...(Rose is close). The dude is fun to watch - no doubt. His motor and desire to win is awesome.

The reason I like Curry better for MVP is he doesn't force his shot nearly as much, is A TON more efficient and his team is winning at a way higher clip.

I think PER is a great tool, and among the most important ...but, it isn't the only one that is important. As I mentioned in my previous posts, his shooting efficiency #'s across the board are lacking for an MVP and they are exacerbated by the fact that he takes so many shots.

Tonight he took more than 1/3 of his teams shots (36%) and shot 44%. For the season, he is shooting 43% from the field and 27% from the 3-point line. When you are shooting those kind of numbers and taking over 1/3 of your teams shots in many cases, that will lead to losses.

For the season, Westbrook is taking 21 shots a game (too many considering his inefficiency 43/27/84).

Westbrooks #'s this year:

Last year, KD shot the ball 20 times per game. He scored 5 more points per game while shooting the ball one time less per game than Westbrook. His shooting percentages were:
50/39/87

KD's MVP #'s last year:

There is a glaring difference in these numbers, and, as mentioned in my previous post, a huge reflection in winning percentage (55% winning percentage this year without KD and 72% winning percentage last year without Westbrook).

This is why I feel Steph Curry deserves the MVP.
