My rational at the time was that 100K on an Audi was like 60K on another car, because Audi's are so nice. Wrong. I was in the shop every month or so and just to do ANYTHING you're looking at $2K. Plus the check engine light was always on, not matter what. My Audi experience was very bad. My little bro bought a newer A4 and loved it at first, but has his own nightmare stories and is now very upside down in an Altima.
I love Audi's, but I would never buy one again unless it has less than $20K miles, less than 2 years old, and I'm a lot more wealthy than I am now so I can handle it if it starts to go downhill..
