The job can still exist without people making it unduly difficult. And even if it DIDN'T I'd be fine with that if it was because everyone was a good citizen and did their part. There are plenty of other things I could have done for $7.50 per hour.
We live in a society where certain things should be expected of one another and I think this is one of those expectations. As someone noted above, I too think this is one of the quickest and best ways to judge a person's character.
