Wow. Some of the best action of the tournament so far with three last second wins including a double overtime barn-burner. The Spirit Bracket continues to be a foe to the underdog with few exceptions. Today's round-up comes assisted by a ghost writer. All the funny ones come from me . • 1 Ashtrash vs. 9 Brass Monkey: Ashtrash's doggedness and all around charm shot her to an early lead, and Brass Monkey ran out of juice before attaining all-star status. Turns out maybe we like the smith machine - at least those of us who know what it is, which totally includes me. Better luck next time, bruh. Brass Monkey bows out, 122-71.
• 4 Zaphod vs. 5 BellicoseButcher: Awkward. Just an awkward matchup all around. Zaphod was shocked to find out that BellicoseButcher was a girl and protested the matchup saying that he couldn’t take on a girl in his singlet. The refs allowed him to change his attire, but apparently all he ever wears are singlets as he came back wearing a brighter colored version. BB didn’t hold back and out wrangled her foe 98-90, setting up an authentic cat fight in the next round which is already sold out.
• 2 Cougazul vs. 10 docrick: We plugged "cougazul" into Google Translate and found out it means "CougBlue." We plugged "docrick" into Google Translate and found out it means "ingrown toenail remover." Regardless, Cougazul was on firm footing with this one and ran away with it early to finish the match easily at 137-51.
• 3 benny1982 vs. 6 CDV: Important happenings in 1982: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is released. Tootsie, Porky's, and Annie all spend time in theaters. The Weather Channel airs on cable TV for the first time. The Commodore 64 is released. Which of these momentous events caused benny to adopt 1982 as his signature year? No haters here, benny, we loved Porky's too. And CB loves benny as he easily takes down CDV 139-45.

• 1 foofcoug vs. 8 bushy7: Even though it's been 2 weeks since he logged on, foofcoug killed it in this contest with a final score of 140-53. bushy7 handled his upcoming defeat better than he handles visits from his MIL and we look forward to his 10 polls in response to this outcome. FOOF WE MISS YOU, COME BACK! Where are you? Probably demolishing cupcakes, just like in the Cougarboard Bracket Championship.
• 4 cougarmanguy vs. 5 BYUtiful: Our first buzzer beater. cougarmanguy was down 100-99, then heaved a desperation half court shot that airballed but got tipped in at the last minute by Choke. BYUtiful golf clapped the last second 101-100 victory, then went home and curled up with his Book of Mormon.
• 2 BE-WHY-YOU vs. 7 DapperDan: To BE-WHY-YOU or not to BE-WHY-YOU. That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrow of outrageous modhood, or to take arms against a sea of FOers, and by opposing, end them? To deactivate, to sleep... Exit stage right, DapperDan. BE-WHY-YOU wins this duel 115-75.
• 3 BYUCougarsFan vs. 6 Big XII Coug: In a 6 seed vs. 3 seed 112-73 upset, Big XII Coug shows how desperate we are for any hint of P5 inclusion. Look Baylor! Pssst, TCU, Oklahoma! See how easily we'd fit in? We already have fans naming themselves after the conference! We'd probably barely win any games at first anyway! Who's that over there? Oh. Hey Texas. Listen, about that football thing. It was probably just a fluke. Yeah. This season. And last. What's that? Oh right, basketball too. Heh. Ahem. But really. Big XII!

• 1 Bernard vs. 9 -C9-: Someone had to be the first 1-seeded poster to fall. After a shaky first round, Bernard puts up a good fight but the scrappy and eager 8th seed -C9- shows how hot these polls can get and sends Bernard a cease and dismiss letter. Dodger and Bernard can get back to their bickering, which makes all of us who get to watch the real winners. What’s that? No way. You can’t be serious. Bernard won? Holy crap. What was the score? 96-94? Come on Cougarboard, what are you thinking! Alright, the pageant continues.
• 13 coug'sdad vs. 5 BGRTHNUMEGO: BGRTHNUMEGO and coug'sdad decided to settle this head to head contest like gentlemen - by seeing whose name commandeered the higher Scrabble score. Coug'sdad put up a fight, but his shot rims out while BGRTHNUMEGO's username is a slam dunk for a final score of 124-64. BGR will be facing Bernard in the next round. Bernard already has his Twister mat cleaned off.
• 2 chago04 vs. 10 Chopperdave: After pulling the upset in the first round, ChopperDave ran out of gas when battling the vicious 2 seed. When asked for comment about his second convincing win, this time with a final score 141-48, chago said, “Well, my expertise with numbers and insurance tables tells us that statistically the average remaining number of years expected prior to death for a person born on or before January 1, 2010 is akloiiiioiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii *Note: This is the point when the ghost writer died of boredom and I started taking over again.
• 3 BluePete vs. 6 Busiturtle: Ho. Ly. Crap. Two overtimes! From the start, this was a close contest. With both gladiators wrapped only in American flags to cover their nakedness, their weapon of choice: pure resolve, how was this battle ever going to end? Somehow, it was BluePete who won the day in double overtime, 16-14. He has claimed not only the win, but Busiturtle’s scalp which he has paired with his Title of Liberty to mobilize the rest of the freemen to his cause. Does chago have a prayer next round?

• 1 cougfanblue vs. 9 Buffalo: He just earns votes. All day long, that’s just what he does. And he doesn’t even care. Just Flindersoning himself along, probably all the way to a final four appearance. How can you not love this guy? Even Buffalo who lost this round pathetically 128-59 is a total cfb fan. Everyone is getting on the dfb bandwagon.
• 13 Hambone vs. 5 BYUMizzou: After the countless hours of showing movies to his students while managing the Cougarboard Bracket Championship, perhaps the masses felt that they could throw Hambone a bone. This is the only viable explanation for his 108-84 victory over the vaunted BYUMizzou. Hambone is still just happy to be here.
• 2 BW84 vs. 10 BigTex: So everything is big in Texas, except for scores I guess. BigTex was only able to scrounge up 63 points to BW84’s 114. Keep beating Texas, Cougarboard. It’s just what BYU does.
• 3 brj8 vs. 6 BlueFrog: brj8’s strategy was to suspend BlueFrog and anyone on his FO for a day. A futile effort. BlueFrog willed himself out of suspension, then freed his compadres and demolished the powerful mod 76-110 earning his new nickname: The Mod Slayer. He’s now looking past his next opponent for the inevitable showdown with cougfanblue. Will he add to his mod head count. I ain’t going to stand his way.
