While most of it was fluff and/or things reported by multiple sources, there were a few tidbits I hadn't heard before. In no particular order...
-They are throwing to the TEs a lot more, particularly Samson. Isn't he the 6'7" TE? Man, if he can get into the two deep, with him, Mitch, and Kurtz, that is one tall receiving corp.
-Nate Carter is tearing it up in practice. Since Jammal's health is still an uncertainty, that's good news for depth purposes, considering Brown and Hine both had health issues of their own last year. I still really hope Charles West can somehow make it to BYU. He could be a faster version of Jammal. Speaking of Jammal, supposedly he hasn't been to many practices this spring. I'm not sure if that means anything.
-Jay Drew also commented that BYU is more loaded at the offensive skill positions than any other year he's seen in his 8ish years of watching BYU practices.
If Taysom can stay healthy, I think BYU will have an elite offense. If Bronco can get the young guys up to speed quick on D and performing at a top 30 level, we'll have a special season on our hands. Two big ifs though, so, to borrow the cliché, I'm taking it one game at a time 😉
