Honest questions:
Tanner Balderree, Coby Jorgenson, Jackson Kaka Steven Richards, Bryan Samsom, and Matt Sumsion, are our current TE’s on our roster. Their height is from a low of 6’2" to a high of 6’8” Average is 6’4 3/4. The lightest weight is 210 while the heaviest is
250. The average is close to 240 so, are any of them capable enough, if they had the right coaching and the right OC calling the plays, to play like Dennis Pitta, Jonny Harline, Doug Jolley Chad Lewis, of recent memory, or going back to the miracle bowl game days of the 1980 with Clay brown, Gordon Hudson, David Mills, Trevor Molini or Chris Smith and Bryan Rex of the Detmer days?
If our current guys have the making, then why not throw them the balls like we did with our hero Tight Ends of yesteryears, when many of them made All American and the NFL? If they are not capable, why not? Is it our recruiting? Is it our coaching or lack there of? In the last 6 years, since Denis Pitta left us, what TE on a regular basis, game after game, have we thrown the ball to? And more importantly, why not?
