Getting Kip Thorne's ideas on screen was quite the task and is partly what
made it a big draw for me. As they said, it was "the most scientifically accurate" of the major space movies apart from a pure documentary.

The science was cutting edge, part speculation and part truth, but all heavily consulted on by teams of theoretical physicists, both in the underlying ideas and in the software written to create the visuals/graphics. That kind of added some intrigue to it for me.
