Have you checked the settings to make sure it's trying to use the screen and
not set to external display as the default?
Which OS are you using? Here are some ideas for Windows 7.

Could be a loose connection connecting the laptop screen and the mobo...

Yep, bought a brand new screen. Replaced old one. Connections are good
