Steve Spurrier sucked in the pros. Great in college. I have no idea why.
Andy Katz did a good outside the lines recently (filling in for Bob Ley) on Calipari and the vacated final fours and the NBA. This is the audio, the video is probably out there somewhere too.

The first 9-10 minutes are really interesting.

Calipari actually took the Nets to the playoffs in his second year. The team just collapsed his third year (and possibly started the season 3-17?). I have heard he damaged a lot of relationships with the Nets organization so he had no allies when things started to go bad, and he didn't relate to the Nets players well, either.

I didn't want Kentucky to hire Calipari and it took a while for me to warm up to him. The reason I warmed up to him is I saw he is a genuinely good guy. I admit having two vacated final fours looks bad, but if he truly didn't know about the incidents that lead to the sanctions, he didn't know about them.

I admit he is competitive and cocky, which causes people to dislike him. But lots of coaches are competitive and they aren't hated like Calipari is (Rick Pitino, for example).

A lot of coaches have cheated or been accused of it, and aren't hated like Calipari is (John Wooden, Roy Williams, Larry Brown, Jim Boeheim, Bruce Pearl, Kelvin Sampson, Bill Self are some examples).
