"heaps didn't work out" way to open up old wounds
Wasn't one of the big criticisms of heaps that "heaps didn't work out" with the team?

Or that "heaps didn't work out" in the weight room. (Seriously he probably looked like taysom in the 5th grade (not meant to be as harsh as that sounded))

Look heaps peaked in high school. He won state titles and set tons of records and played meaningful minutes at major ncaa universities. He should be able to sleep well at night. He has had some great accomplishments and has lots of bragging rights. Way more interesting of a life than mine thus far. He handled a somewhat messy situation with class. I appreciated that. One day he will laugh at himself and all of this just like laettner can laugh about how his pro career turned out. Just rest on the laurels you have. Heaps has some laurels I can only dream of. He will laugh at himself someday. I'm already laughing at him. It's healthy.

He had my hopes so sky high when he arrived, I really thought he was going to be Ty detmer. I wondered if he would have a 5000 yard passing season. Oh man it hurt to watch what actually happened. Agony. Disappointment.

Bit here's the reality. He could have stuck it out and fought for the byu legacy. He left. When you leave you can't expect loyalty from a fan base. Christian Stewart stayed around the program even with no eligibility. Guess how many times I'm going to rag on him?? None. I felt like heaps should have stayed around and won his job back. He should expect some dissatisfied byu fans. Had he stuck around I don't think you'd see the same level of disrespect for him. You open yourself up to criticism and mockery when you leave... Ask Lebron. I get the people that want to coddle him, but I think chat boards are great places to vent about huge disappointments. If I saw him in person I'd be totally nice. But it was jake heaps that taught me that dreams really don't come true and that crappy things come in great packages. He taught me never to have high expectations. Keep those things low and be surprised when things turn out ok. He prepared me for real life I guess.
