He was one of my highest quotes and he said that we would need to tap into the electricity meter (but shhh, don't tell Provo City) and run an illegal line as part of the A/C installation. He wouldn't do the illegal electrical work but was happy to refer me to a guy (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) who would do it for an extra $400 on top of the already-high A/C quote. While talking to me for the estimate, he also interrupted our conversation to answer his cell phone and talked to somebody for about 5 minutes, which is always super impressive for a prospective customer.
The company I ended up hiring ran a good electrical line inside of the house for less than the A/C-only quote from American HVAC.
If the American HVAC guy hates Gephardt, then that makes me think Gephardt is doing something right.
