Denver really punches above it's weight for a city of it's size, it's got a great food scene. I'll give you the list of places I've been to that are great that are all basically downtown, and where I've heard they're great. It's a long list, let me know if you have questions (I've ignored potential value of a place, since work has paid for nearly all of these meals).
Places I've eaten at that I'd reccommend:
- Euclid Hall (Larimer Square; fancy/delicious bar food)
- Osteria Marco (Larimer Square; Italian)
- The Kitchen (Downtown; New American)
- Duo (The Highlands; New American)
- Cholon Asian Bistro (Downtown; Fusion)
- Mercantile (Union Station; New American)
- Uncle (The Highlands; legit, but overpriced Ramen)
- Non-dinner
- -Masterpiece Deli (The Highlands)
- -Backcountry Deli (Downtown)
- -Snooze (Union Station; breakfast foods)
Places I've heard good things about:
- Linger (Highlands; ethnic)
- Root Down (Highlands; New American)
- Fruition (Highlands?; New American)
- Hops and Pie (Berkely/Highlands; Great Pizza)
Ignore the Yelp! rating
- The Squeaky Bean
- Jimmy's Urban Bar and Grill
