We heap a ton of deserved scorn on Howell. What about everybody else?
What about our D-line coach? Outside of Ziggy's partial season, just what can be said about the d-line other than it's generally solid? That isn't exactly high praise. 10 years into the Kaufusi era and we can generally count on two things: for the most part our DL doesn't get pushed around, but they don't do much pushing, either. And on the rare occasions they do finally break through an o-line, they're generally too slow to get a sack. I know, I know, we run a 3-4 and our DL's are just supposed to be gap fillers. Or so that's the excuse. There's a guy starting for the Detroit Lions who begs to differ. Perhaps, just maybe, we should be recruiting more Ziggy style DE's rather than Graham Rowley's.

Outside LB's: why does K-pop get no blame for the Bronson experiment? Shouldn't he have spoken up at some point and said, "Hey, guys, Bronson sucks at pass coverage." The truth is there was nobody else ready to go at OLB. You can blame the HC, blame the DC, blame the recruiting coordinator, but at some point the position coach who has been at this school for some time now ought to be held responsible for ensuring his cupboard is full.

Inside LB's: An unexpected transfer straight off a mission changing from RB to LB was one of our starters. We had nobody else ready to go. Same criticism as above.

Howell's deficiencies have been well documented on this board. We get that the players did not respect Howell. Why didn't the front seven apparently not even respect their own position coaches? Were the three guys above just coasting? It shouldn't have to take Bronco and only Bronco to get the players' attention.
