yes. I actually do know how police reports look. I also know of many occasions where cops embellish, shade, ignore, and emphasize on their reports and in-court testimony.
I prosecuted and got a conviction on a guy for resisting arrest based on cop testimony that was later shown to be false. So yeah, I "know how it works."
