I've been seriously considering this idea and really like it, but I have also
found a few problems. Some of which I have solutions but others I'm not sure what the solution is.

- Roof needs repair. Solution: repair it
- Door needs repair. Solution: repair it

I figured I don't need to divide the interior into individual rooms, but rather can simply make it pallet space on the floor. If the door is secure and there's only one way in/out and it's secure, then the storage is secure. This would significantly reduce my costs and allow me to fit more in.

The problem for which I don't have a solution is this:

- Fall semester is coming to an end mid-December. I rent out all the space within my spud cellar and it's full. The students who are storing their stuff are expected to return to town and start school April 20th. Winter semester ends April 10th and a group of students is moving out and need somewhere to store their stuff. I can't fit any of it in my cellar because it's already full. Less than a week later I will empty my cellar with the returning students moving in. It's that overlap period that I can't figure out how to manage. Do I rent a storage unit from someone else to bridge the gap? Do I only fill my cellar halfway to permit me to have room for outgoing people?

Also I found some of the storage units in the area store stuff for $20/month and also do a pickup service. I think $30/month for a pallet sized area (can be stacked high on the pallet) is reasonable, plus a $10 pick up and a $10 drop off fee. So most people would end up paying $125 to have their stuff stored for a semester. It's not very competitive with other rates and there's little to differentiate my service or justify the higher costs. I don't know if it'd be worth it to me to charge less than $30/month but maybe I'm just being greedy.

Anyway, have some things to consider. Any ideas how to manage that overlap?
