1. The Utes had a better year than just about everyone expected and as a result Whit signs a longer term contract which all but guarantee's his role as a thorn in BYU's side.

2. I predicted that with Chris Petersen's departure it would officially squash that obnoxious Boise program. But given the circumstances and the outcome of last season it appears that not only did they have a surprisingly good year but they appear to have once again landed a coach to take their program to an even higher level than the previous one.

Other than that, adding in BYU's boring season it made last seasons college football the worst year for me in a long time.
