Some inspired scenes but also some terrible ones, a bit overlong and overwrought, on the nose, etc. Ending was more of a mess, but he improved his female characters, although they were still a bit cardboard. Definitely nice to see a big budget space movie made from scratch. Wouldn't rush to see it again, but it was worth the time and money. I'd probably rather watch it again over his batman movies. I thought Jessica Chastain was weak, but the other actors were all pretty good.
