He beat USC as a 41-point underdog in year one at Stanford

On the one hand nobody knew how good he was yet so he could still sneak up on a team like that. But on the other hand, the talent disparity between the two teams was probably greater than between Michigan and OSU right now -- and that was a Pete Carroll- coached team that went on to finish #2.

Meyer will probably win this year, but could be close.
