I'm more confident in our defense this year mainly due to the fact that last season's DE starters have been passed up and are now 2nd stringers. This means better talent/experience is in place at DE.
Our LBer's will still be mediocre, but with a little more experience and some excellent athleticism in Takitaki, Warner, and Langi there will be some spectacular plays made as well (see Warner's pick 6 last year).
Bronco seems high on Hanneman starting at CB, so there's a good battle going on there. Davis and Preator both got some great experience last year, Shelton is impressing, and as with the DE's, last years starters may end up as 2nd string. This means we have better talent, and our backups have shown to be decent if this occurs.
I am worried about safety outside of Nacua. I believe that this defense plays its best when we have a talented/experienced duo at safety. There will be some struggles, but overall at the end of the year the defense will be given around a B grade, which will be enough with how good I expect our offense to be barring injuries.
Oh and Bronco is the full time D coordinator again. Huzza!
