Season Predictions
I know it's April, that there are a lot of questions for the Cougars and also for our opponents. Still, these are my predictions for. I'm sure they'll change once fall camp starts...

At Nebraska - I like our chances in this game. Bronco is 2-1 against Riley, and this is Riley's first year at Nebraska integrating a new scheme. Nebraska will also be without Bell and Abdullah, though their front three will be tough. I think Armstrong (who reminds me of a lesser version of Keaton) will look better with more experience but still won't be effective enough to help beat the Cougars.

Host BSU - Harsin has done better than I thought he would as HC, but hosting them this year without Hedrick and Ajayi really helps us. I think this will be similar to the 2012 game with lots of D and low scoring... except we'll win.

At UCLA - They return 18 starters, including Miles Jack and Paul Perkins. This will be a long night for the Cougars.

At Michigan - Had Michigan kept Hoke around one more year I think we would have won this game, but Harbaugh will bring quick change and Michigan will be re-energized with him at the helm. I see this a lot differently than the Nebraska coaching situation, where they got rid of a jerk who was a good coach in favor of a nice guy who is a good coach. Michigan got rid of a let-down for a very good and proven DI coach. This one is a toss-up.

Host UCONN - Cougars win.

Host ECU - Cougars win, but not by as much as we think. This will be an athletic team, just not as well coached as the Cougs.

Host Cincy - This one will be a surprising challenge, with the Cougars winning in the 4th. Cincy was 13th in passing yards last year, and returns their QB and leading receiver. Unless our secondary really emerges as a strength this is going to be closer than most think.

Host Wagner - Cougars win.

At SJSU - Cougars win. This team was 3-9 last year with a weak MWC schedule.

At Mizzou - I don't think Mizzou is (or was) as tough is some people. This team ranked really low in passing yards last year and lost their main receivers, they also lost to Indiana and struggled with Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Tennessee. I don't think we win, but I also don't think we get blown out. I see more of a defensive battle we end up losing.

Host Fresno State - Cougars win.

At Utah State - This is where my bias comes out. I'm still bitter about last year and what happened on our turf to Hill, and on the same night McMahon was being honored. I hope Chuckie is still healthy in this game, and I hope the aggies are ranked and looking good. I also hope the aggies are spitting tons of smack talk leading up to this game. Who am I kidding? Of course they'll be talking trash.
Then, I hope the Cougars come out and ROLL them like they did to UCLA in 2008. I want to ruin Chuckie's last game in Logan. I don't want him injured before this game and I don't want him injured in it, I just want our front three to pressure, hurry and sack him all night long. I want our secondary to be on his receivers like Charlie Weiss on a cheap buffet, and when he forces throws I want them to pick him off every time. I like Chuckie, and he's a good player. But I want the kid in tears after this game.
Then I want Taysom to be Taysom. I want him to have 60+ yard rushing TD, throw a couple more TD's and make life all around miserable for the aggie D by keeping drives alive both with his feet and arm. I'd love to see Jamal torch their D as well, breaking a few of their defenders ankles on the way to a 200 yard rushing night. And as long as we're drubbing this team and sending them back to irrelevance, it'd be fun to see Mitch Matthews stretch out for an ESPN Top Ten catch in the end zone.

Regular season 9-3.
