What I learned on South Field today
1. Our centers are beasts. If we have both Whippy's vs. Cal, we are in good shape. I believe Jared turned his ankle in the 1st half, but was walking on it after the game; so with 2 weeks he will hopefully be back.

2. The step off at #8 was not noticeable. I intend no disrespect to one of the greatest #8's to play at BYU, but we seemed to do fine without Sumsion. We are deep in the loose forwards. Come to think of it, we've produced a ton of great #8's over the years: Bloomfield, St. Pierre, Sumsion... all Eagles. Did I miss anyone?

3. We still leave defensive gaps, especially when the ball is recycled quickly and especially between 9 and 10. Cal will exploit this if we don't tighten up.

4. The rugby alumni love the game. It was cool to see 100+ at the halftime celebration.

5. Some BYU fans are embarrassing. I know it happens in every sport, but I cringe when I hear some old guy yelling at the ref (who made the correct call, played advantage, etc.). I was unfortunately seated behind that guy. I should have switched seats.
