The linebackers have enough talent, inside and out, that they will be a solid group this year. They might even be a great group. A few things to sort out inside, but my fear isn't there. The defensive line is a little more of a fear but my feeling is that if we can sort out the nose position the rest will fall into place. And there should be enough warm bodies with talent that someone will rise to the top of that heap.
The secondary will be a work in progress. There will be a lot more guys there this fall than were here in the fall but even with an influx of talent I think these guys might not hit their stride for a bit.
Which means the front 7 need to be very good.
I think the defense will be good but not at first. Which means the offense needs to be fantastic early on.
Even still, I think 2-2 to start the season is probably fair right now. Win at home vs Boise and steal Nebraska game one. Michigan will be harder than many are giving them credit for being and I think UCLA will be a too tough to handle game.
Just my early view of the season.
