an example:

One of my first pdays we are in missionary clothes and go out to eat. A waitress walks by me and trips and spills an entire tray full of cokes all over me. I was completely covered in coke wearing a shirt and tie and slacks. I tried to not look upset (I was a missionary after all) and she got angry and acted like it was my fault. She went and got me a few napkins to clean up with (I needed a beach towel) and that was it. In America you would get at least a free meal for you, if not the whole table. I got nothing not even an apology. I was just glad they didn't charge me for the drinks that were spilled all over me.
