The difference between north and east-facing will be smaller
than the difference between north and west or south-facing (because the afternoon sun has a bigger effect than the morning sun).
If that's the only consideration, I would pick east-facing. But if there are compelling reasons to prefer north-facing, I don't know if winter snow removal would be enough to swing the decision to east-facing.
